Tawk2me is a totally mobile voice driven social networking service. It requires no complicated application, or software download. Tawk2me delivers immediate personalised voice messages to your nominated groups, be it - friends, family or work groups, anywhere in the world.



Use of Site


You may only use this site to browse the content, make legitimate purchases and shall not use this site for any other purposes, including without limitation, to make any speculative, false or fraudulent purchase. This site and the content provided in this site may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or distributed. 'Deep-linking', 'embedding' or using analogous technology is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized use of this site and/or the materials contained on this site may violate applicable copyright, trademark or other intellectual property laws or other laws.



Disclaimer of Warranty


Tawk2me and the network service providers do not endorse, support, represent or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any Content or communications posted via Tawk2me services or endorse any opinions expressed via this Service. You understand that by using Tawk2me services, you may be exposed to Content that might be offensive, harmful, inaccurate or otherwise inappropriate, or in some cases, postings that have been mislabeled or are otherwise deceptive. Tawk2me’s Rights. Tawk2me reserve the right to:

1. modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, the Website (or any part of) with or without notice to you and you confirm that Tawk2me shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or 

2. change these Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part of) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the Conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the Conditions then you must immediately stop using the Website. 

3. Tawk2me will use its reasonable endeavours to maintain the Website. The Website is subject to change from time to time. You will not be eligible for any compensation because you cannot use any part of the Website or because of a failure, suspension or withdrawal of all or part of the Website due to circumstances beyond our control.

1. Tawk2me’s enhancement to your privacy

Tawk2me Proprietary Limited, Registration Number: 1993/001411/07 (‘Tawk2me”) respects the privacy of our customer’s personal information that customers provide us with and should be protected through the use and interaction with the www.tawk2me.co.za website and all associated websites, mobile applications, products and services.

We have prepared this Tawk2me Customer Privacy Policy and notice (“this policy”) to notify you of what type of personal information we collect from you and our customers and/or users, how we will treat that personal information, and the circumstances under which we will share it with third parties.

2. Who is the Customer?

A customer is a person (individual or organisation) who enters into a contract with Tawk2me or any Tawk2me Affiliate for the receipt of Services or Products for its own use (as part of an integrated solution provided by Tawk2me or any Tawk2me Affiliate).

Customers who act of behalf of an organisation may only use the Tawk2me websites, mobile applications, products and services with authoritisation from the organisation.

Customers who are natural persons may only be 18 years or older. If you are under 18 years, you may only use the Tawk2me websites, mobile applications, products and services with the involvement of a parent or guardian who has provided consent for you.

 

3. Who is the user?

A user is a person (individual or organisation) who uses the Tawk2me websites, mobile applications, products and services.

4. Consent from you

Tawk2me will not collect or process customer and/or user personal information without obtaining the customer and/or user’s consent. Your consent is obtained in terms of a legally binding agreement, which includes the applicable commercial terms and conditions, website and mobile applications terms and conditions. (For example Tawk2me Subscriber Agreements, Pre-paid terms and conditions, Master Services/Reseller Agreements and Registrations or signing up of any Tawk2me online services and products and this policy).

By accepting to the above mentioned terms and conditions you are accepting the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, and Tawk2me with consent for the processing of your personal information and accepting the practices described in this policy.

 

 

6. What we collect about you?

On some websites, mobile applications, products and services, you are subscribing and purchasing; you may be requested to provide your personal information which is relevant to the type of services and products.

In general, personal information is information which identifies you as an individual, such as your first and last name, your ID number, your phone number, credit vetting and payment information, your preferences and opinions. Personal information is information which identifies you as an individual, which includes -

Whilst you are making use of any Tawk2me websites, mobile applications, Tawk2me also automatically collect certain other personal information, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, mobile carrier, your ISP, URLs of sites from which you arrive or leave the Tawk2me website and/or mobile applications and sites that have embedded Tawk2me platform technology. Through cookies and other technologies we are able to recognise you as an existing or registered user of the Tawk2me website and/or mobile application and are able to better service you.

A cookie is generally a tiny data file that resides on your computer, mobile phone, or other device, and allows Tawk2me to recognise you as a user when you

return to the Tawk2me online store website using the same computer and web browser.

There are different types of cookies. Here are two examples.

7. The use of your personal information

In order to provide you, our customers and/or user with the best online services, mobile applications, products and services. Tawk2me will use your personal information to:-

  • Carry out a credit check if you’re applying for a contract for airtime services and to assess your application;
  • Process the goods and services you’ve bought from us, and keep you updated with your order progress;
  • Provide the relevant service or product to you. This includes other services not included in your agreement with us, and services that use information about where you are when using your mobile equipment (location information) and to contact you with messages about changes to the service or product;
  • Bill you for using our products or services, or to take the appropriate amount of credit from you;
  • Protect our network and manage the volume of calls, texts and other use of our network. For example, we identify peak periods of use so we can try and ensure the network can handle the volume at those times;
  • Understand how you use our network, products and services. That way, we can develop more interesting and relevant products and services, as well as personalising the products and services we offer you;
  • Carry out research and statistical analysis to monitor how customers and/or users’ use our network, products and services on an anonymous or personal basis
  • To conduct market research and perform statistical analyses of our customers and/or users’ behavior. By being aware of our customer and/or user’s interest in and use of the various areas of the Tawk2me websites, mobile applications, products and services for Tawk2me to better serve its customers and/or users;
  • To share information across Tawk2me’s different business units for processing in order to serve Tawk2me’s customers and/or users more efficiently such as but not limited to Credit Vetting Process, Direct Marketing Process and Customer Loyalty Processes;
  • To share information with Tawk2me third parties within our operations where we have an underling contractual relationship with Tawk2me third parties;
  • To prevent and detect fraud, information security and privacy incidents and other crimes, recover debts or trace those who owe us money
  • To send you promotional materials or details by SMS, e-mail or post, provided you have given your consent for marketing from Tawk2me;
  • Let you know about other companies' products and services (including offers and discounts we’ve specially negotiated for our customers) we think may interest you, if you’ve chosen to receive this information;
  • To contact you in the event of a query and respond to any questions or concerns you may have about using our network, products or services; and
  • As required by law.


 

8. The safeguards for your personal information

Maintaining the security of your personal information is important to Tawk2me. Reasonable security safeguards have been implemented to protect your personal information. Tawk2me uses various methods to protect your information such as:-

  • Encryption methods when transmitting payment information, such as your credit card information. An icon resembling a padlock is displayed on the bottom of most Internet browser windows during encrypted transactions;
  • Access to your personal information on Tawk2me websites, mobile applications, products and services, will be password-protected;
  • Sensitive data (such as credit card information) is protected by SSL encryption when it is exchanged between your web browser and the Tawk2me website and mobile applications;
  • To protect any data you store on our servers, Tawk2me also regularly audits its system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks; and
  • Tawk2me maintains Information Security Programme internally to ensure that your personal information against unauthorised access, accidental loss or destruction.

 

9. Sharing of your personal information

Tawk2me employs other companies and individuals to perform certain functions in order to fulfill our services and to facilitate the performance of our functions to our customers and/or users. In these instances, this will involve sharing our customer and/or user’s personal information with such companies. Tawk2me will only share customer information in the instances:-

  • Where disclosure is made with the customer and/or user’s consent.
  • Where Tawk2me is obliged to disclose information as required by law, without consent.

In addition third parties chosen by Tawk2me are assessed to ensure that they handle our customer and/or user information securely.

Third parties are companies which Tawk2me employs to perform functions on behalf of Tawk2me. Some of Tawk2me third parties perform the following functions for Tawk2me are:-

  • Receiving payments, fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and email, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analysing data, providing market assistance, providing search results and links (including paid listings and links), processing credit card payment, and providing customer service. These third parties have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for any other purposes that have not been clearly defined by Tawk2me; and
  • By performing online service on Tawk2me’s websites, products and services.

 

10. Your Information Choices

10.1 Accessing and Changing Your Information

You can review the personal information you provided to us and make any desired changes to the information you have provided. Please be aware that even after your request for a change is processed, Tawk2me may, for a time, retain residual information about you in its backup and/or archival copies of its database.

You can request this information through our Promotion of Access to Information Act No 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) processes.


10.2 Direct Marketing

You have the right to choose whether you receive marketing material or not. By accepting this policy you are also agreeing to Tawk2me sending you marketing material on related services, products and offerings provided from Tawk2me from time to time. If you change your mind at any time, you are always able to opt out.

We will comply with the direct marketing provisions of the Consumer Protection Act No 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the CPA regulations, including the provisions relating to the direct marketing registry.

 

10.4 Your obligations

As a customer and/or user, you have certain obligations. Some of these obligations are imposed by applicable law and regulations, and others have become commonplace for Tawk2me:-

      • You must, at all times, abide by the terms and conditions of Privacy Policy and any agreement of Tawk2me product and services. This includes respecting all intellectual property rights that may belong to third parties (such as trademarks or photographs).
      • You must not download or otherwise disseminate any information that may be deemed to be injurious, violent, offensive, racist or xenophobic, or which may otherwise violate the purpose and spirit of Tawk2me and its community of Users on Tawk2me websites and/or mobile applications.
      • You must not provide to Tawk2me with information that you believe might be false or misleading.
      • You must keep your username and password confidential and not share it with others.
      • Any violation of these guidelines may lead to the restriction, suspension or termination of your Tawk2me website and/or mobile application account at the sole discretion of Tawk2me.

11. Reporting incidents

Please let us know:-

      • If you believe your Tawk2me website and/or mobile application account has been compromised;
      • If you have been contacted by someone via email about your Tawk2me websites, mobile applications, products and services account asking for a password, birth date or other personal information;
      • If you believe your personal information has been used for fraudulent activity;
      • If you are a member of the security community and need to report a technical vulnerability; and
      • For any other enquiry relating to information privacy and security

Product availability
Credits are allocated immediately to your account profile on completion of the online payment process. Should you choose to do an electronic payment, then 24hrs are required to allocate these credits to your account profile.

Delivery Policy
When you click to make a purchase with us legal obligations arise and your right to refund of monies charged to your credit card or paid in any other way agreed by us, are limited by our terms & conditions. Each country is specific so please consult the country codes found in the footer. There is no upfront or monthly charge in using
Tawk2me. Posting recordings to your followers will only cost you the price of a single call into our Tawk2me number, irrespective of the number of Followers it is going out to. The call will be charged at the country specific rate indicated in the footer [call rates]

The same is true for your followers - they will pay the country specific rate to call in and listen to your message - no other costs apply.

Corporate accounts do have other billable options and benefits.
